Cookie Policy

Last Updated: 10 June 2025

This page explains what cookies are, which ones we use on the Ripenest website, and how you can manage your preferences. We have tried to keep the language as plain and clear as possible.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit it. They help the site remember things about your visit — such as whether you have already seen a notice — so you have a smoother experience the next time you return.

Cookies cannot run programmes or carry viruses. They are widely used across almost all websites and are a normal part of how the modern web works.

2. Cookies We Use

We divide our cookies into four categories. Essential cookies are always active. The others require your consent.

Always Active

Essential Cookies

These are required for the website to work correctly. They remember whether you have accepted the cookie notice so we do not show it on every page. Without these, parts of the site may not function as expected.

Examples: cookieConsent preference storage

On

Analytics Cookies

These help us understand how visitors use our website — such as which pages are viewed most often. The information is gathered in an aggregated form and does not identify you personally. It helps us improve the site.

Examples: page views, session duration, traffic source

Off

Marketing Cookies

These cookies may be placed by third-party services to track visits across websites. They are used to show information that is more relevant to your interests. We currently use these sparingly.

Examples: ad personalisation, retargeting

Preference Cookies

These remember choices you make to personalise the website experience — such as your language or display settings. Enabling them means we do not need to ask you the same questions on every visit.

Examples: language, region, display preferences

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some features on our site may be provided by third parties who place their own cookies. We do not control these cookies directly. Third parties that may set cookies include:

  • Google Analytics — for anonymised website usage statistics;
  • Google Maps — when viewing the embedded map on our contact page;
  • Social media platforms — if you follow links to our social pages.

Each third party has its own privacy and cookie policy. We encourage you to review them independently.

4. Cookie Duration

Cookies fall into two duration categories:

  • Session cookies — these exist only while your browser is open and are deleted automatically when you close it.
  • Persistent cookies — these remain on your device for a set period (often between 30 days and 2 years) or until you clear them manually. Our cookie consent preference is stored as a persistent cookie so we remember your choice.

5. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

  • You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you. Please see our Privacy Policy for details.
  • Disabling optional cookies will not prevent you from using any part of the Ripenest website, but some minor site features may behave differently.
